    This presentation will focus on the 1094 and 1095 reporting requirements, who is responsible and how to complete. We will also walk through variable hour employees and various other reminders for the upcoming year. Come with questions!

     

    Abbey Vanderwerf is the Employee Benefits Operations Manager for Howalt McDowell Insurance. She joined the company in 2008 after spending most of her professional career in Human Resources. She holds both her PHR and SHRM-CP designation as well as her Life & Health License.

    While Abbey works on benefit plans for clients of all sizes, her primary focus is on large employers. She is instrumental in strategic planning and program development to enhance employer benefit packages and build lasting solutions to align with the company culture.

    Because of her past HR experience, she also focuses heavily on the area of benefit compliance and has become an expert on the ACA since its passage in 2010. She has hosted numerous seminars and webinars on the topic, leads a group of employer focused professionals to navigate the changes, has been a guest on local radio programs and answers many day to day questions associated with the law’s implementation for employers.
